The Fuerteventura Cabildo collaborates in the Organization of the IV short Festival dunes of film and Video, which will be held this year at the same time in the municipalities of La Oliva, Puerto del Rosario and Tuineje. The meeting room of the Centro de Arte Juan Ismael hosted the presentation of the event, in charge of the insular Counselor of culture, Genara Ruiz, the director of the Festival, Miguel Diaz, the Coordinator of culture of the municipality of La Oliva, Janet German, and the Coordinator of the Organization, Maria Sanz. Miguel Angel Diaz, director of the Festival, referred to the details of a festival which in this Fourth Edition ‘is becoming a benchmark at the level of the Canary Islands, and is positioned in the national film scene’. Of the 280 works presented, he stressed the high quality of the same, the amplitude of genera treated, and the variety of backgrounds of the shorts that concur in several countries of Europe, although led by Spanish filmmakers. The short Festival will feature an official section, centered in the screening of the nominees work to the dunes Awards, at the same time in the home of the colonels, the Auditorium of Corralejo, the Insular librarian Center of Puerto Rosario and the Auditorium of Gran Tarajal; and an informative section, in that the opportunity of viewing those works that have not been selected, but who have enough quality to be projected to the public will be provided. Also, the program of this fourth edition includes varieties as the realization of four training courses two of them directed by Koldo Zuazua and Mariel Macia, a roundtable with members of the jury, a gathering of filmmakers and filmmakers or a photo exhibition focusing on the film shootings carried out in the island of Fuerteventura.
